The Live to Love activity which took place on Sunday, March 7th, went very well, even so we were not many people.

Because of the small number of participants, we were not able to set up the activity of singing that we planned to do. We therefore decided to make a short visit to every floor.

One of the participants took her dog with her. The beautiful exchange which happened between the dog and the residents, brought enjoyment to all those who were present in the dining room. Meanwhile, the other two participants organized a party of bingo to amuse some persons who wished to play.

It seemed to us that our visit was a sunbeam for the dark day of the residents.

May we be more people for the next times.

In spite of cold and risks of rain, a good small group of motivated persons gathered for the Live to Love activity and among them new participants whom we were delighted to meet.

We started the day by helping SPA to take the dogs for a walk. The walk was interrupted with pauses of time sharing with the dogs to try to give them affection through caresses. Just as the previous times, the dogs who were very agitated at the beginning of the walk, calmed down by the end; some having become very soft thanks to the exchange which had taken place.

We were very happy to have succeeded in taking out all dogs before the closing of SPA for pause to have lunch. It took us around one hour and a half, some of us having taken out a second dog.

The team of the volunteers of SPA welcomed us once again very warmly and accepted with great pleasure to join us for the photo of group with their old dogs "mascots" of the shelter.

In the afternoon, we went on the coast, more exactly in a small harbour of the region, to pick up waste there. We found a heap of things and it there only 1 hour and a half and 300 metres there.

During all the duration of the activity, we have had been very lucky because it did not rain at all and at the time when we stopped, at about 16 h, he started to rain and it did till evening.

May we always be more persons to join in Live to Love and this for our good to all of us!

We were a small group of people motivated for this activity, some persons having come from very far away in order to participate in it and we really want to thank them for that.

The day began with the dogs of the society for the prevention of cruelty to animals which were very much longing to stretch their legs.

This time, it was necessary to leave separately as some dogs were not sociable. All the dogs which wanted to go for a walk did go out and that required us to go several times out with two and even three dogs for some of us. That took us almost two hours. Even if it is not always easy as the dogs pull out a lot, it is a real happiness to see them happy waging their tail.
Once again, we were really blessed with the weather as the day was very sunny and it was even possible to picnic on the beach.

During more than two hours, we inspected several beaches of neighbourhood to clean them of their waste. As the day was very beautiful, there were many persons to walk there and our activity was very much noticed. Some stopped us asking for more information about it, and one person even wished to participate in it another time.

May we always be more people to participate in these altruistic activities which make us more confident and appreciate life more.

Plantation of small shrubs at Drukpa Plouray, on November 15th 2009

Last Updated on Sunday, 31 January 2010 20:07 Saturday, 21 November 2009 18:07

This month, we gathered together on 3rd Sunday of the month at Drukpa Plouray to plant small shrubs. Drubpön Nawang had wished that we continue the hedge of rhododendrons begun at the beginning of the year and we were waiting for the favourable period to do plantations to continue this work.

We began the activity at 9:30 am and ended for the lunch break. Everything was executed more quickly than expected. Some persons dug holes, some others brought the 120 rhododendrons, while the rest of the participants planted them. To allow this half-day of plantation, 4 months of preparation of the ground had been necessary: pruning of trees, evacuation of the waste, removal of stumps, level the ground and reconstruct a bank.

Thank you to the persons who very kindly prepared the lunch for us.

Live to Love Plouray - Support to SPA and collect of waste on a road near the coast

Activity of October 18th 2009

We began at 10.00 am by walking eleven dogs coming from a refuge for pets called SPA. The SPA, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, takes care of abandoned pets and takes in those who were badly treated by human beings. As the association lacks of volunteers to walk dogs, we offered our help to give a little freedom to dogs. During one hour, we walked Orton, Ninu, Povpere, Ulysse, Uno, Uriage, Memere, Cooky and three other dogs, names of which we did not know. After the walk, they came back to the refuge very relaxed and much more confident with human beings.
After a picnic, we prepared ourselves for our main activity which consisted in collecting the waste along a road near the coast very much frequented during weekends. We divided our group into two smaller groups to be more effective and in order to cover a longer distance by going in two different directions. Everybody was equipped with gloves and bags of two kinds to sort out the recyclable waste of those which were not recyclable.
Then, we again divided the groups into two to act on both sides of the road and walked there to collect the waste during more than one hour. We found many things on only one kilometre.
When crossing our group, some people thanked us and encouraged us for the continuation of our activity.

By doing so, we hope to be helpful to the planet and to help creating more awareness around the environmental protection.

With our prayers and love,
Live to Love!!
