Dear Dharma Friends,

As the New Year starts, the Metal – Hare year, I convey to you my best wishes.
May this year be a source of peace and harmony in the world.

Last October, we organized a long life ceremony for His Holiness the 12th Gyalwang Drukpa at the Darjeeling monastery. Everything went well and our Master rejoiced with our initiative.
I would like to thank here all the people who participated directly or indirectly to the smooth running of this event.

Kyabje Thuksay Rinpoche just completed a set of teachings in the European Drukpa Centers, and everyone had the opportunity to realize how fortunate we are to benefi t from his presence. I am hopeful that he will become the guide for the European centers.

In 2011, we will be honored with the visit of Khempo Seunam Gyatso Rinpoche from the Darjeeling monastery, reputed professor in the Varanasi university of Buddhist philosophy. He should stay in Europe for more than two months. Khempo Seunam will give teachings in Plouray on Gampopa’s text “the Jewel Ornament of Liberation” and will develop several subjects of the Buddhist philosophy. It is important to attend to the teachings of all these great Masters. Each Master teaches in a different way and to be present at these sessions, to familiarize oneself with their teachings can only make us progress on the spiritual path.

The third Council of the Drukpa Lineage will take place in Ladakh this summer. His Holiness looks to his students so that as many persons as possible can be there. The Councils, devised and wished for by His Holiness, are an especially intense high point and a very important moment for the future of the Lineage.

As you may know, the ceremonies celebrating the 800 years of the Drukpa Lineage will take place in the Plouray centre in 2012. Throughout these eight centuries, the Drukpa Lineage has counted a signifi cant number of great masters and yogis. These celebration ceremonies contribute to preserving their memories and to paying homage to them. Starting today, we should prepare ourselves for this extraordinary event. A temple is currently under construction in the Meditation Garden at Drukpa Plouray. It will shelter the 300 statues of the masters of the lineage as well as many sacred texts. I rely on each and every one of you to participate in a way or another to this very exceptional event.

May our positive actions be dedicated to all the sentient beings.
