Confirmation of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa’s visit to Drukpa Plouray in August 2027 to lead a Drubchen

His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa has not visited Drukpa Plouray for several years. Therefore, during the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of Druk Thupten Sangag Tcheuling Monastery, organized by Kyabje Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche in Darjeeling last February, I wished, in the presence of the group of Westerners accompanying me, to request that His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa accept my invitation to come to Drukpa Plouray in August 2027 to preside over a Drubchen during which meundrup will be made.
In the past, two Drubchens have already taken place at Drukpa Plouray : the first in 1997 for the consecration of the stupa, and the second in 2003 for the inauguration of the main hall. The ceremonies were led by Kyabje Ziichen Bairo Rinpoche with the invaluable assistance of the Lopöns and Lamas from Nyima Loung Monastery in Bhutan.
These two events, of exceptional spiritual intensity, had a decisive impact on the center’s development and activities.
At the time, I had asked Kyabje Ziichen Bairo Rinpoche to return to Plouray in the coming years to lead a third Drubchen, but that wish could not be fulfilled.
In his great kindness, His Holiness has accepted my request to lead this third Drubchen next year and has confirmed the dates of his visit for this exceptional event.
The ceremonies will take place from August 1 to 12, 2027.
I am sure many of you—from France, Europe, Asia, and other countries around the world—will come to Drukpa Plouray to attend this unique retreat. Therefore, I am sharing this confirmation of the dates with you today so that you can make all the necessary arrangements to set aside this time.
We are truly very fortunate! This event, a rare occurrence in the history of the glorious Drukpa Lineage, will be a great blessing for the Drukpa Plouray Center, which for forty years has been fostering the practice of the Buddha Dharma for the benefit of all beings.
The spiritual impact, without a doubt, will also be profound for all those who participate in these ceremonies.
Sincerely,
Drubpön Ngawang Tenzin Rinpoche Pagsam Yongdu
